Call for Presenter: HITC


What: Presenters wanted for this year’s Hawaiʻi Island TechEd Conference on March 27, 2015. Remember how much you learned from your colleagues at our Kula Waena tech in-service? This is a great opportunity to share your  manaʻo, your expertise, and share the work you have been doing with your students so your colleagues can benefit from your practitioner experience.

Start Your M.Ed. @UHH


What: Join the University of Hawaii at Hilo’s masters of education Fall 2015 cohort.

Why: The program promotes teacher leaders who will engage in school renewal and reform through curriculum development, school decision-making, and community outreach.

Other: An information session will be held on December 1, 2015 and applications are accepted until April 1, 2015. For more information, or a brochure, email Cathy.

Get an M.Ed. at Walden University

Walden UnivWhat: Walden University offers a fully online masters of education degree in various specialty areas from adolescent literacy and technology to teacher leadership. In addition, they offer an accelerated program for certain specializations (curriculum, instruction and assessment; elementary reading and literacy; teacher leadership)

Why: This fully online program is made for full time working teachers who are still in the classroom. In addition, their tuition is comparable to the University of Hawaii systems.

Bonus: Walden also offers a range of scholarships starting from $1500 to full tuition, including merit based scholarships like the Commitment to Social Change scholarship  for new Walden students who show potential to effect positive social change.
